December
2007
Dear Reconciler Family,
It
is with great exultation and joy that I look back
on the blessings and accomplishments of the year
2007! And it is with great anticipation and expectancy
that I look down the road at 2008. We see the hand
of God and feel His power as we move forward in Him.
And we’re reminded that it’s “not by power nor by
might but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty” that
we accomplish anything of value (Zechariah 4:6).
To
recap a few highlights that I’m aware of (much is
accomplished by our 25 Chapter Leaders that I’m not
aware of until we have sharing time together):
- I was interviewed on Cleveland radio station
WCRF on Why Black History Month
- A number of our Chapter Leaders had Black History
Month and other presentations.
- Chapter Leader Evelyne Burkhard and I participated
in the Amazing Grace events in England, highlighting
the work of William Wilberforce and the abolition
of the British Slave Trade on its 200th anniversary
on March 25.
- Chapter Leader in Cincinnati, George Hart, and
I had the privilege of interviewing Civil Rights
legend, Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth from Alabama. He
was one of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s right hand
men and was arrested 38 times and beaten a number
of times, yet with no anger. You may read an article
on the interview on our ORM website at ATimeToReconcile.org.
- Was sent to Pietermaritzberg, South Africa, by
the African Enterprise Board of Directors to represent
the U.S. operations in international board meetings.
What a wonderful ministry! You may learn
more about it at AEUSA.org.
- Participated, along with our local church in
Beaumont, California, in a Community Unity March
commemorating 9/11/01. The keynote speaker was
Dr. Bernice King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr.
- We established a new ORM Chapter in Peoria, Illinois,
led by co-pastors Cliff Parks and Tony Pierce. They
combined their two congregations, thus crossing
several traditional barriers. Our hearty congratulations
to them!
- And the 12th Anniversary of ORM is
coming up in January 2008!
Thank
you again for your love, prayers and strong support.
May God continue to bless and keep you in His loving
care.
Love
in Him,
Curtis
