March 2007

Dear Reconciler Family,

We had a very busy month of February with reconciliation events across the country. Many of our chapter leaders and other supporters held or participated in one or more of these events.

I spoke at several events in the Los Angeles, Glendora and Pasadena areas. Pastor Neil Earle and the Glendora Worldwide Church of God held their 11th annual Black History Month service. It was well attended. He also interviewed me on a local public service TV station, channel 55 in Duarte, California, where he hosts monthly shows. We plan to post it on the website, since it covers some important historic and current issues on race relations and modern slavery.

As we move forward with my new assignment as fulltime Reconciliation/Conflict Resolution Ministry leader and trainer, we have been making some modifications and upgrades in our ministry. Our aim is to make it more attractive and effective in our modern world of high technology and fancy bells and whistles.

We have redesigned our ORM website and given it greater appeal. We have also increased the size of our Reconcile newsletter from 4 pages to 8 pages, as you may have noticed.

These expenses add up to about an additional $5,000 for this year. Along with that, my traveling expenses to help build and promote the ministry have increased. I donĂt mean to burden anyone, but I was asked to share some specifics on our needs.

As I mentioned before, I plan to travel to England on March 22 to participate in events celebrating the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade in the United Kingdom. Several archbishops plan to participate in an official Church of England apology for its participation in the slave market.

Thank you so much for your prayers and loyal support of the Ministry of Reconciliation.
